Screening ultimately translates an idea into a set of companies or funds that reflect that idea. Rather than spending time manually creating formulaic expressions or setting filters, users can leverage the screener’s voice-activated technology or typed natural language processing to quickly query and receive results. FactSet’s in-house experts worked in close collaboration with beta clients to develop and train the technology, which is built on top of the Language Understanding (LUIS) Microsoft framework and a standard speech recognition utility, to find and display the most accurate results.
The screener’s interface is responsive, adaptive, and accessible, providing a seamless user experience regardless of the type of device used. The capabilities found in Fund and ETF Screening will shape the future evolution of all screening capabilities across FactSet.

Clients’ approved buy lists are easily integrated, limiting results to only those funds and ETFs within the firms’ approved universe. The Fund and ETF screener also lets users search across a vast scope of data including basic fund and ETF metrics, Lipper rankings, FactSet Truvalue ESG scores, unique FactSet ETF analytics and research scores as seen on ETF.com, performance and risk rankings, fund flows, aggregated fund characteristics, and more.
