Entity Data Management

FactSet Entity Data Management (FactSet EDM) uses entity driven symbology to create a basis for all types of identifiers to be mapped to a single entity, making cross referencing data sets from various sources easy.

The FactSet EDM framework enables a single entity identifier to tightly correlate all types of financial content sources and eliminate duplicate and isolated data silos.

Mapping parent and child relationships, the entity-centric model tracks and manages the relationships between different asset classes and entity types such as public or private companies and their operating subsidiaries, equity and fixed income securities, company officers and directors as well as analysts and money managers, connecting disparate sources of financial information with one common identifier.

All entities that file via EDGAR, SEDAR, and RNS are automatically assigned FactSet Entity ID and added to the FactSet EDM master entity table. Entity level and parent subsidiary changes are tracked on a real-time basis against all market activity, such as reported corporate action events. All of FactSet’s proprietary content is also mapped to the single master entity table, creating a highly relevant and comprehensive taxonomy of securities, companies, and people.
