Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance Selects FactSet to provide Financial Data and Analytics for Professors and Students
Monday, September 26, 2011
Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance recently announced an agreement with FactSet Research Systems Inc. to provide faculty and students with FactSet’s financial data and analytics.
This agreement comes as SAIF is taking steps to provide a wide variety of financial software tools to supplement students’ business school learning. As a comprehensive solution, FactSet offers proprietary data and analytics to its subscribers, in addition to the option to subscribe to third-party data from other providers.
Professor Chun Chang, Executive Director of the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, reflects on the progress that has been made so far. He says, “Our partnership with FactSet has proven to be very valuable to both our students and faculty. As an information platform, students can perform company or macro-level research in classes that significantly enhances their learning experience beyond textbook and lectures. In particular, for our portfolio management courses, the quantitative portfolio modules on FactSet allow students to test investment ideas and simulate trading.”
FactSet is committed to providing sophisticated solutions for coursework, trading rooms, student managed investment funds, and business libraries in academic institutions worldwide. Specifically, FactSet offers academics insight on the global markets, industries, and public and private companies to simulate all aspects of trading: total market analysis, company analysis, and security pricing analysis.
“We are very proud of our alliance with SAIF and hope to continue building important relationships with academic institutions in the region,” says Bobby Rakhit, Managing Director of FactSet in the Middle East, India, Africa and South East Asia. “For over 30 years, FactSet has offered a complete financial analysis solution to money managers around the world, and it’s exciting to develop a strong presence in academia, as well. FactSet looks forward to enhancing the practical learning experience for business school students, and we hope that they will continue to rely on FactSet wherever their professional careers may lead.”
