FactSet Hosts Economic Webinar to Discuss Commodity Petrochemicals with Head of ICIS Data and Analytics

Ray, who is the head of ICIS data and analytics, will join FactSet’s monthly series to present live insights on the chemical industry and commodity pricing data, followed by a special look at FactSet Economics.

The presentation, entitled, “Commodity Petrochemicals – Home Truths Behind the Headline Prices,” will begin at 2 p.m. EDT/ 11 a.m. PDT, followed by a live Q&A session at www.factset.com/spotlight. Paul Ray will provide a global perspective of the chemical industry and discuss how to position chemical commodity data relative to operating companies in the market and appreciate where market price determination and value generation/destruction is likely to be most strongly focused. The presentation will also cover key analysis tools that are used to understand competition and pricing discussions in commodity chemical markets. To conclude, Mike Schiffer, Sales Manager for FactSet’s Content and Technology Solutions team, will provide a brief overview of FactSet Economics, a macroeconomic solution that provides in-depth data and flexible analytics designed to turn research into results. Schiffer will also explain how to take advantage of this type of commodity data on FactSet to research the markets..

As Head of Data and Analytics at ICIS, Paul Ray is a respected authority and thought leader on the chemical industries worldwide. He previously worked in BP’s Petrochemical Business covering competitor intelligence, chemical business strategy and planning and performance management. Paul also worked as a consultant, providing commercial services to producers, banks, and investors in the chemical industries.  

Michael Schiffer is the Sales Manager for FactSet’s Content and Technology Solutions team and has led FactSet through major company milestones including the development of proprietary content for Fundamentals, Estimates, and Economics. Prior to joining FactSet, Schiffer worked at Oxford Health Plans and Hewitt Associates.
