Forbes Ranks FactSet #28 on "200 Best Small Companies"
Thursday, October 15, 2009
For the thirteenth consecutive year, Forbes has named FactSet to its list of the 200 Best Small Companies in America. This year, FactSet is ranked #28.
The 2009 rank is a 30 place jump from FactSet's 2008 ranking of #58. Forbes began ranking small companies in 1996, and FactSet is the only company to be recognized for 13 consecutive years. Seventy-one companies on last year's list fell off this year.
Forbes once again used FactSet software to obtain data for the rankings, crediting FactSet as a source for each page of company fundamentals.
To qualify for consideration, candidates must have annual revenue between $5 million and $750 million, be publicly traded for at least a year, and have a stock price no lower than $5. Rankings are based on earnings growth, sales growth, and return on equity in the past 12 months and over five years. Forbes also compared a company's stock performance with that of its industry peers. Shares of last year's list members outpaced the Russell by 10 percentage points.
FactSet is also listed as #20 on Forbes' 100 Best Mid-Cap Stocks list (comprised of 100 companies showing a unique combination of growth, financial stability and promising forecasts for the coming years).
