Associate
Market Metrics recruits highly motivated, detail-oriented individuals with strong presentation skills and a background in strategy consulting, market research, and/or financial services for the Associate position. As an Associate at Market Metrics, you will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in one of our studies. Associates use their expertise to manage the study internally as well as deliver value to clients through in-person presentations and ongoing support. As a new member of the Market Metrics team, Associates typically spend 6-12 months becoming experts in their subject matter by analyzing the vast amount of proprietary data Market Metrics has collected over 15 years. In addition, new Associates draw on the expertise of other Associates and Principals who have managed long-standing client relationships. After this initial learning period, Associates take on more project management and client-facing responsibilities. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Analyzing market research results
- Synthesizing data from multiple sources to develop an understanding of key industry trends and identify strategic issues for each client
- Managing and mentoring a small team of Analysts
- Developing strong relationships with clients through superior service and responsiveness
- Building custom client presentations with new content and analysis
- Presenting research results to clients and facilitating discussions of strategic implications
- Supporting development efforts for new business/product launches
- Playing a leading role in survey design
- Identifying areas for improvement throughout the project lifecycle and taking ownership for implementing them
The quality and skill set of our Associates is critical to our success. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following characteristics: - At least 3 years experience in strategy consulting, financial services, and/or market research. MBA or graduate degree in related field a plus.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality in-person presentations
- Understanding of key industry issues and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources
- Strong quantitative skills and a passion for analyzing statistical data
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Superior interpersonal skills aimed at client interaction
- Desire to work in a team-oriented, entrepreneurial environment
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to both work independently and manage the work of others
- Willingness to travel 50-75 days per year
- Bachelor's Degree with academic distinction, preferably in economics, market research, business, or the social sciences
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required. Familiarity with Microsoft Access and SPSS a plus
Over time, successful Associates will broaden the scope of their expertise as well as their client relationships. After several years of outstanding performance, Associates who continue to excel with expanded responsibilities may have the opportunity to become a Principal. Principals form the senior executive team at Market Metrics, and are responsible for managing overall client relationships, leading client development efforts to achieve annual revenue growth goals, and making strategic decisions regarding the direction of the firm.
