The third quarter featured an increased interest in select commodities companies, as four of the five stocks receiving the largest increase in institutional ownership were in the Energy or Materials sectors.
By gaining sixty-one additional institutional shareholders and experiencing an institutional ownership increase of 68.3%, Falkland Oil & Gas Ltd. led all companies in this metric over Q3. The largest buyer of the company’s shares was Capital Global Investors, which nearly doubled its position in Q3. However, sizable new stakes were also taken by TD Direct Investing (Europe) Ltd. (4.0%), Hargreaves Lansdown Stockbrokers Ltd. (3.7%), and Talos Securities Ltd. (3.2%). Though RAB Capital Ltd. is still the largest shareholder in Falkland Oil & Gas with a stake of 11.0%, these four buyers of the oil and gas exploration company are now within its top ten institutional shareholders.
