In Product Development, our goal is to build applications that provide our users with content that streamlines their workflows so they can get their jobs done more easily.

Most of my team is made up of former FactSet Consultants and Salespeople who are intimately familiar with our clients’ needs and processes. We know users have different needs, and we’re going to make sure we have products designed for each type of user by offering a variety of services and a high level of customization. That’s what is really powerful about FactSet: everything we offer can be customized to meet our clients’ needs.

We know that a great deal of collaboration goes on between and within the buy- and sell-sides, and we want to make that sharing of information as efficient as possible. We also want to reduce the amount of information overload on our clients. A few years
ago, it was hard to get information, but now it’s harder to decipher what’s relevant.

My group is constantly meeting with our users to showcase what we’re working on in Product Development and get their feedback. We want to hear from our clients what they want and need before we build our applications.

Product Development has an open channel with Consultants and Salespeople. If you call FactSet Consulting Services with an idea, that doesn’t get lost. FactSet has processes in place to make sure that idea gets to the right person. Each request is assigned to a product manager and carefully considered. Later, we follow up with the client about what happened to that idea and if we are implementing it into the product.

Product Development
