This page provides a glossary for the Quick Search fields.
| Full Document Text and Field Search |
This field allows you to search any text in the document. Type in the
word, phrase, sentence, or short paragraph that you want to find in a document.
This will search through all text and all fields.
Use Boolean search
criteria to apply logic to your search. Popular Boolean operators are
AND, OR, and NOT: + for AND, - for NOT, and ; for OR. Please
note that “;” is
our separator operator. So:
- loan;bond means loan OR bond
- loan;+bond means loan AND bond
- loan;-bond means loan NOT bond

Guarantor |
To find a deal with a particular guarantor, use this field to fill in
the name of that guarantor. You can fill in part or all of the guarantor’s
name.

| ISIN |
Search the International Securities Identifier Number (ISIN) - a unique
12-digit number that identifies a security. It is widely used in the European
market and in particular by the European clearing houses: Euroclear and
Clearstream. All internationally traded securities issuers use this numbering
scheme. This is now the accepted standard by virtually all countries. The
United States and Canada primarily use a similar scheme known as a CUSIP
number.
This field takes only the 12-digit ISIN number.
FactSet Global Filings adds three digits to the end of the ISIN to identify supplements
and tap issues directly from the ISIN. A Global Filings 15-digit ISIN ending
with 001, 002, 003, etc. means it is a supplement, while those ending with 00A,
00B, 00C, etc. indicates that it is a tap issue.

| Issue Date |
This field allows you to search the issue date, the date on which a bond,
insurance policy, or stock offering is available to trade. If the document
only mentions a month and a year, but not a specific issue date (often
found in German documents), we take the first day of the month as the issue
date.
Programmes and preliminary prospectuses are the exception to the rule as investors
are not paying for a security under a programme or issue date that is not confirmed
in the preliminary document. A programme only publicizes the terms and conditions
of securities that may or may not be issued in the future. So, for programmes
and preliminary prospectuses that do not mention issue date, we take the date
on the cover page of the document as issue date.
The issue date can also be called closing date or payment date. Issue date and
launch date are often confused. The launch date is most typically the date that
the deal was announced. This is usually before the issue date. |
| Issuer Name |
Type the name of the issuer here. An issuer is the entity that issues
the securities.

| Loan Participation Note Borrower |
Search the Loan Participation Note Borrower, which is a party that borrows
money that the issuer has raised through a bond issue. A Loan Participation
Note structure is sometimes called a Conduit Structure. A key part of this
structure is when the borrower defaults, the bond investors have no recourse
to the issuer, and must go directly to the borrower. Borrowers often use
loan participation notes for tax reasons or because they cannot issue bonds.
The issuer usually is a bank in Luxembourg.

| Use the Thesaurus |
Use this option to employ:
- Spelling - Finding words in documents that are misspelled. The
original documents may contain typos. We do not correct these, because our clients
want us to show documents as they are. So if a document contains the word bnod,
you will not find it when you type in bond. We therefore enter the misspelled
word
in our spelling thesaurus.
- Synonym - Finding synonyms to the word you are searching on. If
you type in bond, the search will, for instance, also look for note.
- Foreign Language - A number of languages are available. So if you
type in bond, the search also looks for Anleihe and Schuldverschreibung (German),
obligatie (Dutch), obbligazione (Italian).
- Company Name - Applying not just text searches, but also searches
on all the party fields (e.g., Issuer Name, Lead Manager, etc.). For example,
if you search for all deals by Bass, you will find deals for Bass, Intercontinental
Hotels, and Six Continents.
