Final Maturity Date
This field allows you to find the final maturity date for asset-backed
securities.
Because the life of an asset-backed security depends on the speed and volume
of the cash flows that are coming in from the pool of assets, there is
no clear-cut maturity date like on a normal bond. However, most asset-backed
deals have a final maturity date, sometimes called legal maturity date
or legal final maturity date to ensure that the structure does end at some
time even if the cash flows come in slower than expected.

Originator
This field allows you to search the originator of the asset-backed deal.
This is the party that created the assets that go into the pool of assets
owned by a special purpose vehicle.

Seller of Assets

Servicer
This field allows you to search the servicer in an asset-backed deal.
The servicer has the role of administrator to keep accounts of the assets
in the pool. The servicer is not actively managing or trading the underlying
assets from an investment point of view.
The portfolio of securitized assets is directly managed by a servicer.
On many occasions, the servicer is also the originator or seller of assets,
but sometimes it may be a third party. The servicer has primarily two roles: • Investor
reporting: monitors the performance of the portfolio and prepares
a report to inform investors. The content of the report and the regularity
(normally quarterly or monthly) of the reporting are normally predetermined
in the transaction documents. In most jurisdictions, the servicer discloses
this report directly, while in some jurisdictions this report is passed
on to another party (the trustee or the SPV manager) that will be ultimately
responsible of the disclosure; and • Portfolio
administration: the servicer administers the pool, which may
include renegotiating the terms of the underlying contracts with the obligors,
collecting the cash flows from the assets and passing them on to the special
purpose vehicle, replacing ineligible securitized assets with eligible
assets and enforcing the mortgages or other securities backing the securitisation
bonds.

SPV Manager

Swap Counterparty
This field allows you to search the swap counterparty, typically in asset-backed
deals. Asset backed deals can use a variety of swaps (credit default swaps,
currency swaps, interest rate swaps, commodity swaps, and more) and therefore
swap counterparties.

Transferor of Assets
This field allows you to search the transferor of assets in an asset-backed
deal. A transferor is the party that transfers the assets from the originator
or seller into the pool of assets. Originator, seller, and transferor are
often used to describe the same role. Because the roles of originator,
seller, and transferor are so similar and the terms are used interchangeably,
we only record the name of the Transferor when it is specifically mentioned
in the document. If you cannot find a party acting as transferor, look
for the same in the Originator and Seller field as well and vice versa.
There are not many deals that use all three terms for different roles in
the same deal.
