A personal message from our Chairman and CEO,
Phil Hadley:

Because FactSet® is a service company, our Consulting group is at the core of the business. We have great technology, a tremendous engineering team, and dozens of financial experts creating innovative products, but it is the Consulting group that pulls everything together for our clients. Consultants are FactSet’s front-line: the face clients recognize and our link to trends in the financial industry. Many of us at FactSet have first-hand experience and fond memories of life in Consulting.

I started as a Consultant in 1985, as did most of our senior management and all of our consulting managers. Every day as a Consultant, you are challenged to create real-life solutions for our clients. You have a chance to become an expert in financial analysis by immersing yourself in our suite of industry-leading products, which our clients — many of the world's leading financial institutions — use as a key component of their investment reseach. Ultimately, you have the opportunity to develop a career based on your personal interests and strengths, either within the Consulting department or in many other areas of the company.

Our strategy is simple and is the same today as it was when I started as a Consultant in 1985: to solve problems for financial professionals. FactSet’s software and industry-renowned client service combine to make us a leader in a fast-moving, competitive industry. The importance lies in the balance between our employees and clients. It is our talented group of Consultants who form the personal relationships with clients that strengthen the "FactSet difference." Our clients around the world have come to rely on these individual relationships, and they trust our Consultants to help them tackle new and challenging research and analysis processes.

At FactSet, our dedication to finding solutions that meet our clients’ unique needs is matched only by our dedication to developing a work environment that encourages our intelligent and creative Consultants to excel and grow. As a new Consultant, you’ll join a team of exceptional people with diverse skills who are always ready to listen and offer both advice and guidance.

If you are looking to start a career where you can think creatively, act independently, contribute actively, enjoy what you do, and grow within an industry-leading company, then I encourage you to apply for a FactSet Consulting position. Best of luck — I look forward to meeting our new hires in training and working together with you in the years to come.

Consulting at FactSet

As a FactSet Consultant, you’ll join a group of enthusiastic professionals committed to maintaining a reputation for industry-leading service.

Consultants work in nearly every FactSet office, all over the world. Most come directly from top-tier technical finance, business, mathematics, or MIS programs, but grads from all majors are encouraged to apply. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as Consultants are constantly building relationships and working closely with our clients.

Consultants are the essential connection between our clients and our employees. Through one-on-one contact with leaders in the financial industry, Consultants form personal relationships with clients and work together to develop innovative ways to streamline research and analysis. Our Consultants do not provide financial advice nor do they perform management consulting functions.

In our friendly yet professional atmosphere, FactSet offers an excellent opportunity to grow and be a part of a successful team. Consulting is the ideal training ground for anyone looking to advance in the organization.

Many consultants have moved to managerial positions within Consulting to other groups like Sales, Product Development, Corporate Communications, and Training. Consultants typically become generalists with broad knowledge of our entire product or specialize in a specific area of our business: investment banking, portfolio analytics, quantitative analysis, fixed income, economic analysis, real-time quotes or news, or data warehousing.

We also encourage Consultants to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and award bonuses for successfully completing each level.

"I never thought that the first company to hire me after college would be where I would want to stay. But now, I see there is so much room to grow, both personally and professionally, and to form lasting relationships with clients and coworkers, that I can't imagine working anyplace else."-Michael, Product Specialist

"After moving on to Sales, I still feel that both the colleagues I see in the office and the clients I work with are positive influences that make it easy for me to go to work everyday. The product itself, which I support and sell, is innovative and ever-changing for the better."-Terrance, Institutional Sales
